Sharjah: The Sharjah City Municipality announced on Thursday that no parking fines will be issued in areas affected by extreme weather conditions last week until they return to normal.

The municipality confirmed that no parking violations were recorded during the unprecedented rainfall, which caused widespread disruption across the emirate. This decision follows the cancellation of all penalties for traffic violations announced by Sharjah Police in the aftermath of the storm.

The UAE experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years on April 16, with the persistent low surface pressure and consecutive waves of unstable weather causing significant damage nationwide.

To provide relief to residents affected by the storm, the Sharjah City Municipality has decided to waive parking fines in storm-hit areas. This includes violations such as non-payment of parking fees, reserving more than one parking slot and parking in reserved spots.
