Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has introduced a robotic arm to revolutionize the refuelling experience.

This innovative robotic arm is designed to swiftly refuel vehicles at petrol stations, completing the process in a matter of seconds. Equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, it seamlessly opens the car’s petrol flap, removes the cap, and fills the tank with fuel. What's more, the technology is personalized, adapting to individual refuelling habits. Through a dedicated app, users can specify the precise amount of fuel required, enhancing efficiency and minimizing waste.

With this robotic arm, motorists can remain comfortably seated in their cars, uninterrupted even during their personal activities. The streamlined process ensures minimal downtime, allowing drivers to swiftly resume their journeys.

While the full rollout is slated for completion by the end of the year, a pilot scheme is already underway at Reef Island in Abu Dhabi. This initiative aims to gather valuable data, facilitating the seamless integration of robotic refuelling across ADNOC's network in the UAE. The project aligns with ADNOC's overarching five-year strategy to enhance the convenience of refuelling experiences.

Beyond the realm of convenience, the introduction of robotic refuelling addresses practical concerns faced by service station employees. In a region known for its scorching temperatures, long hours spent outdoors can pose significant challenges. By automating the refuelling process, ADNOC aims to alleviate these hardships while simultaneously enhancing service quality and station capacity. Ultimately, this innovation is poised to improve traffic flow and customer satisfaction.
