Festival begins as Come on Kerala launches in Sharjah

The sixth edition of Come on Kerala was inaugurated by Ahmad Muhammad Obaid Al Naboodah, board member of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the Expo Center Sharjah. Also seen are Afi Ahmed, CEO of Smart Travel Group; Mujeeb Rahman, DGM of Hotpack Operations; Nishin Tasleem CM, Chairman of Morickap Group; Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah; V.K. Sharjah: The sixth edition of the 'Come on Kerala' festival, the GCC’s biggest Indian international trade and cultural expo that marks a significant event for expatriate Malayalis in the Arab world, commenced at the Expo Center Sharjah. Gulf Madhyamam’s ‘Come on Kerala’ has notably impacted its five previous editions. The three-day expo event, blending culture, entertainment, knowledge and commerce, attracts a large number of expatriates.

Organized under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the event was inaugurated by Ahmad Muhammad Obaid Al Naboodah, a board member of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Attendees included Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah; V.K. Hamza Abbas, Chief Editor of Gulf Madhyamam; P. Sulaiman, MD and Chairman of the HiLite Group; Noufal Arakkal, Chairman of CMV Holdings; Nishin Tasleem CM, Chairman of Morickap Group; Afi Ahmed, CEO of Smart Travel Group; Mujeeb Rahman, DGM of Hotpack Operations; T.K. Farooq, Secretary of Ideal Publication Trust; P.M. Salih, CEO of Madhyamam; Saleem Ambalan, Director of Gulf Madhyamam Middle East Operations; K. Muhammad Rafiq, Global Head of Madhyamam Business Solutions; and Zakaria Muhammad, COO of Gulf Madhyamam.





The expo began on Friday at 10 AM with the ‘Little Artist’ painting competition, featuring over a hundred children in junior and senior categories. The competition will continue over the next two days. The trade expo showcases exhibitions from around 150 institutions from the Gulf and India. Distinguished guests visited the exhibition city and enjoyed cultural programs on the 'Pathemari' stage. Thousands of visitors attended on the first day. The Jaleel Cash and Carry Pioneer Awards were presented on the main stage and the night concluded with 'Rahmaniya,' a musical event featuring songs by A.R. Rahman.

On Saturday, the main stage will host the Indo-Arab Women Excellence Awards, honouring Indian-Arab women achievers. The concluding day, Sunday, will feature the distribution of the 'Arabian Legendary Achievement Award,' followed by the 'Gulf Madhyamam' Silver Jubilee celebrations.
