Dubai Safari Park launches limited-time night safaris this winter
text_fieldsThe Dubai Safari Park is extending its operating hours this winter, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the park’s wildlife after dark. From December 13 to January 12, the park will host night safaris from 6 PM to 8 PM, allowing guests to observe the unique behaviors of animals during the night.
“With the introduction of the unique night safari, we are excited to reveal a new perspective on the world of wildlife after dark. This experience offers a rare opportunity to explore hidden aspects of life in the wild and learn about our constant efforts to enhance animal welfare, by day and by night,” said Ahmad Al Zarouni, director of Public Parks and Recreational Facilities at Dubai Municipality.
Evening visitors can witness fascinating changes in the animals' routines, such as lions roaring more frequently, pygmy hippos becoming more active, and carnivores exhibiting intensified predatory instincts. The experience includes two guided safaris, where wildlife experts will showcase the nocturnal behaviors of over 90 species.
Tickets for the night safari will be available on the park’s website starting December 11. Alongside the wildlife observation, the park will host engaging activities, including interactive animal sessions and live performances like an African fire show and a neon display.
Visitors can explore the natural adaptations of animals during the night, such as enhanced night vision, echolocation and heightened senses of smell and hearing. According to the Dubai Safari Park, “well-considered measures” have been implemented to ensure that the ecosystem and the animals’ routines remain undisturbed.
“Only nocturnally active species will be part of the safari experience, allowing guests to observe them in their most natural state.”
The extended hours coincide with the UAE’s peak tourist season, attracting wildlife enthusiasts and families alike. “This experience offers a rare glimpse into the hidden aspects of life in the wild,” the park’s operator stated, encouraging visitors to embrace this exclusive night-time adventure.
