Dubai Run 2025 records over 300,000 participants on Sheikh Zayed Road
text_fieldsMore than 307,000 people took part in Dubai Run on Sunday, turning Sheikh Zayed Road into a scene of runners, families and fitness enthusiasts for the largest free community run in the world. The event was part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2025, presented by Mai Dubai.
The run began early in the morning with Dubai Police supercars leading the parade. Runners filled the highway past Dubai’s landmarks, including the Museum of the Future, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Water Canal.
Two routes were offered. The 5km course was designed for families and casual runners, finishing near Dubai Mall. The 10km route was aimed at experienced runners, ending at the DIFC Gate Building.
The event featured live entertainment, including DJs from UNTOLD, MCs Kris Fade and Katie Overy and performances by marching bands, stilt walkers and circus acts. UAE flags lined the start area ahead of the Eid Al Etihad celebrations.
Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, said the turnout showed Dubai’s strong community spirit during the UAE’s “Year of Community”. He said the event had become a highlight of the DFC calendar and reflected the city’s goal of promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said the event presented Dubai as a global destination for wellness and inclusivity, with participants from around the world joining the run.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge continues through the end of November, with its finale event, Dubai Yoga, set for 30 November at Zabeel Park. Three Fitness Villages, 30 Community Fitness Hubs and citywide classes remain open for residents completing their 30x30 challenge.
