Dubai RTA cuts Bus-On-Demand fare to Dh2

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant fare reduction for its bus-on-demand service in the Business Bay area. Starting December 20, passengers will pay only Dh2, down from Dh5.

“The fare reduction initiative for the bus-on-demand service in Business Bay area will enhance traffic flow, contributing to smoother movement in this vital area," said Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

The bus-on-demand service, accessible via the Dubai Bus On-Demand app, connects select areas using small public buses. Users can determine their routes and pay fares directly through the app.

"The service provides an innovative solution for first- and last-mile trips, bridging the gap between passengers’ residences and the nearest public transport stations,” Shakri added.

RTA plans to expand the service to 10 areas by mid-2025, supported by a fleet of 41 buses.

“The service is expected to witness broader uptake among public transport users," Shakri said, highlighting its potential to attract more riders and improve connectivity in Dubai.
