The Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation has cautioned residents about an increase in fake job advertisements circulating online.

The ads, found on social media platforms and certain websites, promise part-time jobs with attractive pay but are used by fraudsters to exploit victims.

Dubai Police said these scams often involve opening bank accounts in victims’ names, transferring funds from unknown sources or performing tasks linked to criminal schemes.

As part of its Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign, the force urged people to check the legitimacy of employers before applying. It warned against sharing personal or banking details with unverified parties or responding to offers that involve money transfers.

Suspicious advertisements should be reported through the eCrime platform or by calling 901.

Police stressed that awareness is the strongest defense against scams, adding that misuse of personal details in fraud cases could expose victims to legal consequences.
