Dubai offers free public parking for Eid Al Fitr holiday
text_fieldsThe Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that all public parking across Dubai will be free of charge during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3. The only exception to this are the multi-level parking terminals, where regular fees will still apply. Paid parking will resume on Shawwal 4.
As part of its Eid preparations, the RTA will also extend the operating hours of the Dubai Metro. Both the Red and Green Line stations will run longer to accommodate increased footfall. On Saturday, March 29, the metro will operate from 5:00 am to 1:00 am the next day. On Sunday, March 30, trains will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 am, and from Monday to Wednesday, March 31 to April 2, metro services will resume their early start at 5:00 am and continue until 1:00 am the next day.
Dubai Tram services will follow a slightly adjusted schedule. From Saturday to Monday, March 29 to 31, trams will run from 6:00 am to 1:00 am the following day. On Sunday, March 30, services will begin at 9:00 am and continue until 1:00 am.
There will be temporary changes to intercity bus services during the holiday period. Route E100 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will be suspended from the afternoon of Ramadan 28 (Friday) until Shawwal 3. In the meantime, passengers traveling to Abu Dhabi are advised to use Route E101, which will operate from Ibn Battuta Bus Station. Additionally, Route E102 will be out of service for the same duration.
For those using public buses or marine transport, the RTA has advised that full service schedules are available on its official website or through the S’hail app.
Vehicle testing centers will remain closed from Shawwal 1 to 3 and will reopen on Shawwal 4. Customer Happiness Centres will also be closed during this period. However, Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf, and at the RTA Headquarters will continue to operate around the clock, offering 24/7 service as usual.
The RTA encourages all commuters and residents to plan their journeys accordingly and take advantage of the extended public transport timings during the Eid holiday.
