Dubai offers 50% discount on public transport, up to 70% off on retail with student nol card

Students in Dubai can now benefit from a 50 per cent discount on public transport, thanks to the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) newly introduced nol Student Package. Available to both school and university students across the UAE, the package aims to ease transportation costs while offering additional benefits.

This initiative, launched during the GITEX Global event (14 to 18 October 2024), extends beyond just transportation savings. Students can also avail of discounts up to 70 per cent on local and international brands in the UAE and overseas. The nol card, integrated with the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), can also be used as a payment method in retail stores across the UAE.

To get the nol Student Package, students can request it via the nol Pay app, which will be delivered directly to their specified address. Parents will also be able to manage their children's accounts later this year, with the option to top up balances and control daily spending through new features set to be introduced.

The initiative follows a collaboration between RTA and the ISIC Association, formalized in February 2024 during the Middle East and North Africa Transport Congress and Exhibition. This partnership highlights the commitment to enhancing student benefits in Dubai in terms of cost savings and ease of use.
