Dubai: Dubai Metro has announced an extension of operating hours today, Thursday, May 2, in anticipation of challenging weather conditions in the UAE.

According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of the emirate, the operating hours will be extended from 12 am to 5 am the following day, providing commuters with additional travel options during the night.

Commuters are advised to ensure that their NOL cards have a minimum balance of Dh15 before embarking on their journeys.

To further facilitate transportation for travellers, taxis have been stationed at Centrepoint and GGICO stations.

During the extended operating hours, trains will depart from Centrepoint Metro Station and make stops only at specific stations. These stations include Emirates Metro Station, Airport Terminal 1 Station, Airport Terminal 3 Station and GGICO Station, providing commuters with convenient access to key destinations during extended hours.

Extending the metro operating hours will facilitate transportation to and from Dubai Airport.
