Dubai-based Indian racer Atiqa Mir becomes highest-ranked female in FIA karting

Indian driver Atiqa Mir has climbed to the top spot among female competitors in the FIA International Karting Rankings after a run of results in European junior events.
At 11, she is competing in the OK-NJ category, facing older international drivers in a field regarded as a pathway to Formula-level racing. In March, she finished third in the opening round of the Champions of the Future Academy in Valencia, becoming the first Indian to reach the podium in the European leg of the series. She also set the fastest lap in that race.
Mir has also recorded a top-10 finish in the WSK Super Master Series, another key platform for emerging drivers. Her performances across both competitions have contributed to her current ranking position.
She has been selected for the F1 Academy program, placing her among the early group of Indian drivers to enter the initiative. Her results and ranking position have drawn attention to her progress at junior level, while adding to efforts to increase female participation in international motorsport.
