Dubai announces free public parking for National Day holidays
cancel

Dubai will offer free public parking next week as the emirate prepares for the UAE’s 54th National Day. The Roads and Transport Authority said parking charges will be lifted across public spaces on Monday and Tuesday, December 1 and 2. The exemption does not apply to multi-storey car parks or the Al Khail Gate paid zone (N-365). Normal fees will return on Wednesday, December 3.

The announcement comes as many residents gear up for a long weekend. Public and private sector staff will receive Monday and Tuesday as official holidays, creating an extended break for those already off on weekends. National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad, is celebrated annually on December 2.

The RTA also released Dubai Metro and Tram operating hours for the holiday period. Metro services will run from 5am to 1am on Saturday, November 29; from 8am to 1am on Sunday, November 30; and from 5am to 1am on both December 1 and 2. Dubai Tram services will operate from 6am to 1am on November 29; from 9am to 1am on November 30; and from 6am to 1am on December 1 and 2.

Travelers are advised to use the RTA’s S’hail app to check public bus timings during the break.
