Dubai and Kuwait discuss maritime, trade cooperation

Abdullah bin Damithan, Chairman of Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), discussed maritime transport, trade and customs cooperation with Khaled Abdulrahim Al Zaabi, Consul-General of Kuwait in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The meeting, held at PCFC headquarters in Dubai, focused on ways to strengthen bilateral partnership and expand cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait.

Officials also reviewed the corporation’s strategic projects aimed at supporting supply chain continuity and facilitating trade movement.

Bin Damithan highlighted the corporation’s role in supporting the business community amid ongoing global geopolitical developments.

Al Zaabi praised PCFC’s initiatives in strengthening relations between the two countries and commended its handling of the incident involving the Kuwaiti oil tanker Al Salmi in Dubai waters.

He also praised the role of Dubai Maritime Authority in responding to and managing the situation.
