A’men platform allows UAE residents to report harmful, misleading media content

The UAE Media Council has introduced a new digital platform, A’men, to help residents report online content that violates national media standards. The initiative, announced on Tuesday, aims to promote a positive and safe digital environment across the country.
A’men, meaning “safe” in Arabic, allows users to flag three categories of content, misleading, unsafe and advertising material that fails to comply with regulations.
Misleading content includes false or inaccurate information or rumours that may harm public interests. Unsafe content refers to material that violates approved media standards or contradicts national values and identity. Advertising content covers unauthorised promotional material or ads shared without the required permits.
Residents can access the service through the website amen.ae or the A’men mobile application. Reports can be submitted by registering with UAE Pass or proceeding as a guest, selecting the content type and providing details such as links, images or voice notes.
The launch follows the government’s wider effort to regulate the digital space, including the introduction of the Advertiser Permit for social media promotions. All media professionals and institutions in the UAE must comply with established content standards, which include respecting religion, state institutions, national unity and public morals. Violations may result in fines, suspension or licence cancellation.
