Alumni Award invites development visions at Come On Kerala event
text_fieldsDubai: Non-resident Keralites often have strong perspectives on Kerala’s development and progress, shaped by their global exposure. Many hold ideas for projects that could be beneficial and sustainable in the long term if implemented in their home state. When discussed collectively, such ideas can gain greater clarity and impact.
To bring these concepts to wider public attention and discussion, ‘Come On Kerala’, the largest Indian business and entertainment expo in the Middle East, is providing a platform.
As part of the 8th edition of ‘Come On Kerala,’ Gulf Madhyamam is organizing Season 2 of the Alumni Impact Award. Under this initiative, an award will be presented for the best vision for Future Kerala. College alumni groups operating in the UAE are invited to submit development concepts that could support Kerala as a sustainable development model.
Alumni associations must jointly discuss and submit their proposals in no more than two pages, outlining the concept, objectives and practical feasibility. Submissions can be in Malayalam or English and must be sent in the name of the association’s official office-bearers.
Selected ideas will be presented to the public through social media. Winners will be chosen by an expert jury, taking into account online public voting and community participation. The best concept will be published in the Gulf Madhyamam newspaper, opened up for wider discussion in Kerala’s public sphere and brought to the attention of authorities.
Proposals can be sent to: dubai@gulfmadhyamam.net
Submission deadline: April 10
The Alumni Impact Award, launched at last year’s ‘Come On Kerala,’ received strong participation. Previously, the award recognized alumni groups that organized outstanding social initiatives, with around 100 alumni associations competing.
