Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and the UAE's Deputy Supreme Commander Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan have agreed to bolster bilateral ties on Saturday during a telephonic conversation.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister Office said the two leaders reaffirmed the existing and close fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE and reiterated the resolve to further solidify and strengthen the multifaceted bilateral relationship. They conversed their views on the Covid-19 developments and international issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince for the judicious repatriation of Pakistani citizens from UAE and for absolving Pakistani prisoners.

The UAE and Pakistan have been working closely for curbing the coronavirus outbreak after the resolve between the two in May last year.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had discussed issues related to the welfare of Pakistani expats in the UAE with the Emirati government during his official visit to the Arab state in December. Diplomatic observers expect that Biden administration's policy shift in the Middle East is likely to reinforce ties with Pakistan and Arab states, prominently Saudi Arabia.
