Riyadh: In an effort to develop two neighbourhoods in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman informed the decision of the administration to rename them after his father, King Salman, Arab News reported citing Saudi Press Agency.

The administration renamed the "Al-Waha" and "Salah Al-Din" neighbourhoods as the "King Salman Neighborhood,". As part of the development there, improved basic services, recreational activities etc., will be brought. Also, it will have Salmani architecture, which unites tradition and modernity.

The neighbourhoods are located in the middle of the Saudi capital, next to King Salman Park, in an area of 6.6 sq km.

The developments here aim to boost population and economic growth, SPA reported.

The renaming is also to honour King Salman's leadership of the Riyadh province for five decades.

The development project of the two neighbourhoods comes under the developmental and environmental efforts of Crown Prince Salman in his aim to upgrade Riyadh City. Saudi Arabian administration's Vision 2030 aims to put the city on the world map as one of the most important economic and tourism capital.
