Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day was marked with a Guinness World Record as Lulu Hypermarket presented the Al Khobar New Corniche with the world’s largest shattered glass artwork.

The installation, which incorporated the official emblem of this year’s National Day, was produced in partnership with Khobar Municipality and Unilever’s Comfort brand. Symbolizing the Kingdom’s heritage, unity and pride, the artwork has been handed over to Khobar Municipality as a permanent feature of the city’s waterfront.

The work was created by Saudi visual artist Aseel Al-Mughlouth, known across the region for his large-scale shattered glass paintings that combine engineering techniques with contemporary art.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Khobar Municipality Business Development Manager Naif Al-Zuwai, Media and Corporate Communications Manager Sultan Al-Otaibi, Lulu Saudi Hypermarkets Director Mohamed Haris, Eastern Province Regional Director Shamnaz Pallikkandy and Executive Manager Eng. Mohamed Ahmed Abdul Jaleel Bubusheet.

Speaking at the event, Al-Zuwai commended Lulu for contributing a unique project that reflects Saudi national identity. Haris said the initiative was a gesture of respect to the people of Saudi Arabia and acknowledged the support of Khobar Municipality, Unilever, the General Entertainment Authority and the artist.

The shattered glass artwork now stands as a landmark for Al Khobar, underlining the role of public-private collaboration in the Kingdom’s cultural celebrations.
