Saudi, Malaysian Foreign Ministers lead cooperation talks in Riyadh

The Saudi-Malaysian Coordination Council held its first meeting in Riyadh on Tuesday, co-chaired by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Hajji Mohamad bin Hajji Hasan.
Following the discussions, both ministers signed a memorandum of understanding granting mutual exemption from short-stay visas for holders of diplomatic, private, or official passports. A second memorandum focusing on social development was signed by Hasan and the Saudi deputy minister of human resources, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The council explored cooperation in political, security, trade, investment, Islamic and socio-cultural sectors. Both leaders reaffirmed the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, pledging continued coordination to support their shared interests on bilateral, regional and international issues.
The meeting was attended by Mesaad Al-Sulaim, Saudi ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, alongside senior officials from both nations.
