Riyadh: Launching the second successive National Campaign for Charitable Work (NCCW) on Saturday, King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman donated SR30 million ($7.998 million) and SR20 million ($5.332 million), respectively, to Ehsan, Arab News reported, citing Saudi Press Agency.

At the event, the president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and chairman of the supervisory committee of the platform, Ehsan, Dr Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi expressed gratitude to the leaders for their aid. He said that the leaders' acts of kindness would inspire citizens in helping and support the government's projects for the needy's welfare, especially during Ramadan. The NCCW aims to help disadvantaged people in the Kingdom.

He further said that the Crown Prince has a pivotal role in SDAIA as its chairman and has supported Ehsan's campaign. Saudi stays in the lead in providing support for vulnerable communities worldwide, he added.

He said that Ehsan is in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030's objectives to promote charitable work.

So far, the Ehsan platform has raised SR1.47 billion ($391.94 million), benefitting 4.465 million-plus people. The platform aims to help people with the financial crisis, the sick, the elderly, inhabitants of substandard housing, orphans etc.
