Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Monday received Britain’s Prince William in Diriyah.

The Crown Prince hosted Prince William in Diriyah, the birthplace of the Saudi state and the capital of the first Saudi government. During the British royal’s official visit to the Kingdom, Prince Mohammed bin Salman briefed the Prince of Wales on the Diriyah Development Project and its master plan.

The two leaders later toured the At-Turaif District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located northwest of Riyadh. The visit included an overview of the Najdi architectural style that characterises the district, as well as tours of palaces linked to the imams and princes of the first Saudi state.

Among the sites visited was Salwa Palace, which served as the administrative centre of the first Saudi government. Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prince William posed for photographs at the historic site.

Prince William arrived in Riyadh on Monday evening as part of his first official visit to Saudi Arabia.
