Saudi Civil Defense lifts precautionary alerts for Yanbu, Jazan

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense on Saturday lifted precautionary alerts issued earlier for Yanbu Governorate and Jazan, saying the potential danger had passed.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense had activated the National Early Warning Platform to warn residents in both areas of a possible threat and urge them to follow official safety instructions.

After the alerts were lifted, the authority said there was no longer a danger in Yanbu or Jazan.

It called on citizens and residents to rely on official sources for information and avoid rumours or unverified videos shared on social media.

During the precautionary alerts, residents were told to remain calm, seek shelter inside buildings or interior rooms away from windows and avoid open areas.

People were also advised to stay indoors until further notice, keep away from glass, balconies and rooftops, and avoid gathering near hazardous locations.

Those outdoors were urged to take shelter in the nearest building or behind a solid barrier.
