Saudi chambers partner to turn Makkah, Madinah financial/business hub
text_fieldsRiyadh: In Saudi Arabia, three chambers of commerce are joining hands to convert the cities of Makkah and Madinah into financial and business hubs of the Islamic world, reports Arab News.
The chambers that are entering into the mentioned partnership are the Makkah Chamber of Commerce, the Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. They are all set to sign the tripartite partnership agreement before the representatives from 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Wednesday.
According to Abdullah Saleh Kamel, chairman of the board of directors for the Makkah Chamber of Commerce, the agreement will provide logistical backing on the ground in Makkah and Madinah. This will be via investment and integrated planning for events across the world.
Kamel further said that the partnership would benefit the business in the two cities by hosting many exhibitions, forums, workshops and dialogues with the Islamic world’s decision-makers.
Chairman of Madinah’s Chamber of Commerce, Munir Mohammed Nasser, said that the agreement aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals. The agreement intends to highlight Makkah and Madinah’s role in promoting Islamic values in addition to empowering social and economic development.
