Saudi Arabia has signed three international memoranda of understanding on cooperation in mineral resources with Chile, Canada and Brazil, as the Kingdom moves to deepen global ties in the mining sector.

The agreements were signed by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources during the Ministerial Roundtable on mining affairs, held alongside the fifth annual Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh from January 13 to 15.

The MoUs cover cooperation with Chile’s Ministry of Mining, Canada’s Department of Natural Resources and Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy. Saudi officials said the deals aim to expand international partnerships and strengthen technical and investment cooperation in mining and minerals while supporting the sustainable development of mineral resources and shared economic interests.

The ministerial roundtable drew the largest level of international participation recorded for a forum of its kind, with representatives from more than 100 countries attending. Participants included all G20 members, the European Union and 59 multilateral organisations, industry bodies and non-governmental organisations.

Organisers said the scale of attendance reflects the forum’s growing role as an international platform for aligning policies, building partnerships and developing practical responses to challenges facing the global mining and minerals sector.
