Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has initiated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ charitable programs for distributing dates and iftar meals in Indonesia, Albania and Jordan.

A special ceremony was held in Jakarta on Wednesday to mark the launch, attended by Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia Faisal Al-Amoudi, along with several Indonesian ministers and representatives from Islamic associations and centres.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this year’s initiative will benefit 56,000 individuals through the date distribution program, while 5,000 people will receive iftar meals. Additionally, 35,000 copies of the Qur’an will be distributed during Ramadan.

In Albania, a similar event took place in the capital, Tirana, where five tons of dates will be distributed. A total of 22,000 individuals will benefit from the combined iftar and date distribution programs.

Meanwhile, in Jordan, the programs provide humanitarian aid to charitable organizations, orphanages and refugee camps housing Palestinian and Syrian refugees during the holy month of Ramadan, SPA reported.
