Saudi Arabia moved up 15 positions to 22nd place in the 2026 World Happiness Report.

The study, which assesses 147 countries, is based on how residents rate their own lives. Data is drawn from Gallup surveys and reviewed by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Saudi Arabia posted a life evaluation score of 6.817 out of 10, calculated using averages recorded between 2023 and 2025.

The latest ranking places the Kingdom ahead of the United States, which ranked 23rd, Canada at 25th and the United Kingdom at 29th.

The report examines several factors tied to well-being, including income levels, social support, health, personal freedom, charitable activity and perceptions of corruption.

Officials say the improvement comes as economic and social reforms continue under Vision 2030. In recent years, new employment initiatives, infrastructure projects and expanded cultural and leisure offerings have reshaped urban life in several cities.

Government programs, including the Quality of Life initiative, are designed to enhance public spaces and broaden access to recreational and cultural activities nationwide.
