On July 3, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture launched the Saudi Alliance for Agricultural and Food Technologies in Riyadh, aiming to improve the country's food supply chain amid rising demand. Deputy Minister Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti inaugurated the initiative, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The alliance includes 40 public and private entities, with founding partners such as the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and NEOM's food subsidiary, Topian. The goal is to foster a community of stakeholders in the agricultural and food technology sector and to build connections among them.

Al-Mushaiti emphasized the importance of developing an environment that preserves natural resources and ensures sustainable water and food security. He highlighted the agriculture sector's contribution of $29 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP in 2023 and expressed hope for further financial improvements with the new alliance.
