Prince Khalid bin Salman

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia's defence ministry said on Thursday that the Kingdom had launched many developmental initiatives in Yemen to boost the country's staggering economy, Arab News reported.

Saudi deputy defence minister Prince Khalid bin Salman tweeted that the launched projects include 17 development projects in 6 sectors at the cost of $400 million. This is in addition to the $200 million in oil derivatives for power stations, he added.

The projects are to be executed by Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen. Prince Khalid promised the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Saudi's full support. He met the council's president Dr Rashad Al-Alimi and members and lauded their efforts.

The minister stated Saudi's commitment to Yemen in improving Yemeni people's living conditions and bringing peace, security, stability and development to the economy.
