Dubai: Saudi Arabia allows people who contracted Covid-19 to get the booster dose immediately after they recover from the disease, Arab News reported.

Citizens who have tested negative can take the booster shot after three months of taking the second dose of the vaccine.

On Thursday, the Kingdom's interior ministry had mandated those travelling outside the country to take the booster dose. They could get the jab from February 9 onwards. However, those younger than 16 years of age and citizens with exempt status in the Tawakkalna app are exempted from the requirement.

For 18 years and above, the Twakklana app gives an immune status to those who took booster shots, who were vaccinated eight months ago.

The Kingdom has reported 3,555 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, and the cumulative count here reached 702,624 cases. Three pandemic-related death were added in the past day, and total fatalities reached 8,950 since the pandemic broke out. The health ministry confirmed the recovery of 4,023 patients in 24 hours, and the cumulative recovery count reached 657,995.
