Thousands of worshippers assembled at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on Monday night to observe Qiyam prayers marking the start of the final 10 days of Ramadan.

Crowds filled the corridors, courtyards and prayer areas of the Grand Mosque from early hours, performing Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers and reciting the Qur’an. Authorities implemented operational plans that included expanded cleaning and sanitization work, additional prayer carpets and round-the-clock distribution of Zamzam water.

Entry and exit routes were organized to manage the flow of worshippers, with specific access points allocated for the elderly and people with disabilities.

In Madinah, similar arrangements were put in place at the Prophet’s Mosque. Gates, prayer halls, rooftops and courtyards were prepared to accommodate worshippers, while maintenance teams and crowd management staff were deployed to facilitate movement and ensure services operated without disruption.
