Saudi Arabia’s new consuls general to New York and Suez were sworn in on Thursday in Riyadh. The ceremony, led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, saw Abdullah Al-Hamdan appointed as Consul General to New York and Marzouq Al-Nafi’i as Consul General to Suez.

Both officials took an oath, pledging: “I swear by Allah Almighty to be loyal to my religion, king, and homeland, not to divulge a secret of the state’s secrets, to maintain its interests and regulations at home and abroad, and to perform my duties with honesty, integrity and sincerity.”

The event was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji and other officials.
