Jeddah hosts Vijay Dum Dum Biryani roadshow at Lulu Hypermarket

The “Vijay Dum Dum Biryani” Mega Roadshow was held at Lulu Hypermarket in Baghdadiya. The three-hour event was organised by Gulf Madhyamam and Meefriend, with presenter and culinary expert Raj Kalesh, also known as Kallu, attending as the chief guest. He also served on the judging panel alongside Lulu Hypermarket Chef Nizam.

Nineteen pre-selected contestants presented their homemade biryanis. After evaluation, three participants received Golden Tickets, securing lateral entry into the semi-finals.

In the Biryani Dum Star category, which featured 13 contestants, Fathimathul Haniya and Safida were declared winners. In the Biryani Raja category, contested by six participants, Moideen Kutty took first place.

The program included cultural performances alongside the competition. Raj Kalesh and Shamna Riyas hosted the event, while artists from Ishal Kalavedi performed Oppana and dance routines. Singers Jamal Pasha, Mazin and Sofia Sunil also performed.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Abdul Aziz of Vijay Masala Company, Vijay Moolan, Managing Director of Vijay Masala, Abdul Rahim, Western Regional Manager of Lulu Hypermarket and A. Najmudheen, Patron of Gulf Madhyamam Saudi Western Region.

The Jeddah round is part of a wider contest series being held in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. Semi-finalists from each city will compete in the Grand Finale in Riyadh.

The final winners will be selected by celebrity chefs Suresh Pillai, Abida Rasheed and Raj Kalesh. The total prize pool stands at 50,000 riyals, including a top cash award of 40,000 riyals.
