The Embassy of India in Riyadh celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day on Thursday with over 500 attendees, including embassy officials, journalists and Indian community members. The event started with the flag hoisting by H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, the Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, followed by the reading of the Hon'ble President's message to the nation. In his address, the Ambassador highlighted the growing India-Saudi Arabia relations and conveyed warm wishes to the Indian diaspora. He also emphasized the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which envisions the world as one family.

The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances by children and members of the Indian community. Embassy families and participants also actively supported the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign.

Additionally, a Partition Horrors Remembrance program was held on August 14, where community members reflected on the historical significance of the event.
