Riyad: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that the distribution of this year's Hajj visas will begin on Sunday. The move is part of pre-planned plans to ensure better services and a smooth journey for pilgrims.

The visa process is starting four months before the Hajj rituals in line with the Saudi 'Vision 2030' goals. Along with the distribution of visas, other important procedures related to Hajj have been completed. Agreements related to services, accommodation and transportation at the holy sites have been finalised. Campsites in Mecca have been allocated in advance to avoid congestion and to streamline services.

The contracts for services for foreign pilgrims have been completed. Accommodation facilities in Mecca have been fully coordinated through the ‘Nusuk’ platform. The ministry expressed hope that by planning the season in advance, it would be able to provide a better experience to millions of pilgrims.

According to current figures, 7,50,000 pilgrims have registered for Hajj, and 30,000 pilgrims have booked packages directly from their home countries. 485 camps have been allocated for foreign pilgrims in the holy places. The Ministry of Hajj also said that 73 Hajj Affairs Offices have finalised their basic contracts.

The ministry said that these precautionary measures will help to avoid the challenges of the Hajj season and provide non-discriminatory services to pilgrims around the world. The ministry continues to coordinate continuously with Hajj missions and service providers inside and outside the country.
