GCC residents can now enjoy year-round access to Umrah: Heres how

Residents of GCC countries can now perform Umrah year-round, as confirmed by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Haj and Umrah through a recent social media announcement.

To streamline access to the two holy mosques, the ministry outlined three visa options available for pilgrims: the Umrah visa, transit visa and tourist visa. GCC residents can book an Umrah package via the Nusuk platform, which requires personal details such as health status and wheelchair needs. Alternatively, visa applications can be processed at Tashir centres or through the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: https://visa.mofa.gov.sa/.

For those transiting through Saudi Arabia, a transit visa is available through Saudi Airlines or Flynas. Tourist visas can also be obtained year-round via the official platform: https://ksavisa.sa/.

The ministry emphasized that obtaining an Umrah permit via the Nusuk app is mandatory before arriving at Al-Haram. Pilgrims must select a specific time slot for their pilgrimage, with one slot permitted per day. The app also provides crowd estimates for different time slots to ensure a smooth experience.

By integrating these options, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah aims to facilitate seamless access for GCC residents, enhancing their pilgrimage experience.
