For the upcoming month of Ramadan 1446 AH-2025, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has issued new directives that forbid the use of cameras inside mosques to record the imam and worshippers during prayers.

Hyderabad Institute of Excellence The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance (MoiaEN) also forbade the transmission or broadcasting of prayers via any media platforms, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

These measures are intended to protect the sanctity of mosques protect attendees' safety and guarantee that religious ceremonies are conducted in a setting of spiritual peace, Siasat Daily reported.

The Grand Mosque's and the Prophet's Mosque's Head of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sudais, highlighted the Ministry's dedication to offering excellent services and initiatives throughout Ramadan.

He said that in order to better the experience of Umrah pilgrims and guests at the two sacred mosques during Ramadan, the ministry will further digitise its operational preparations for the month of fasting.

The holy month is anticipated to start on March 1, 2025, according to lunar estimates. The precise commencement date, however, will be verified closer to Ramzan after official reports of moon sightings.
