The 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition winners for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Qur'an will be honoured at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Wednesday. The deputy governor of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, will preside over the ceremony.

This year’s competition has attracted record participation, with 174 contestants from 123 countries—the highest in the competition’s history. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, the Kingdom’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, highlighted the event as a testament to Saudi Arabia's dedication to the Holy Qur'an and those who memorize it.

The minister also expressed his gratitude to Makkah Gov. Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and Deputy Gov. Prince Saud for their continued support in making the competition a success. The total prize pool for the contest stands at SR 4 million ($1,065,996).
