Riyadh: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia informed that 4.8 million foreign pilgrims had performed the Umrah this Islamic year. The years started at the end of July 2022, Arab News reported.
The ministry released statistics that 43,32,349 pilgrims arrived by plane, and 5,07,430 came by land ports. Further, another 3,985 arrived by sea ports.
Of the total, 13,51,731 pilgrims arrived in the holy city of Madina at its Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport and visited the Prophet’s Mosque. 11,132 Umrah pilgrims came by Prince Abdul Mohsin bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Yanbu, the ministry said.
