Saudi ambassador to Iran arrives in Tehran following renewed ties
text_fieldsTehran: Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anazi, the new Saudi ambassador to Iran, arrived in Tehran on Tuesday to begin his duties, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Al-Anazi stated that the Saudi leadership's directives emphasise the need to bolster ties, step up communication, and hold more meetings between the Kingdom and Iran upon his arrival in the Iranian capital.
He continued by saying that the Kingdom wants to expand the scope of relations between the two neighbouring nations given their shared economic interests, natural resources, and other advantages that contribute to the region's growth, prosperity, stability, and security as well as the welfare of the two nations' respective populations, Arab News reported.
The ambassador emphasised that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 serves as a roadmap for all areas of cooperation that can be improved in line with a strategic perspective that establishes the values of good neighbourliness, understanding, purposeful dialogue, and respect to increase mutual trust between the two countries.
Following years of animosity between the two nations, Saudi Arabia and Iran decided in March to repair diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies.
