Qatar exempts Covishield vaccinated passengers from quarantine

Doha: Residents arriving back in Qatar who have obtained Covishield Vaccine in India are eligible for quarantine exemption, The Peninsula daily reported quoting the Indian Embassy in Doha.
On its Twitter account, the embassy wrote, "Qatar authorities have confirmed that those who have obtained Covishield Vaccine in India are eligible for quarantine exemption at the time of entry into Qatar. Passengers should have obtained two-dose, completed 14 days after the second dose and carry the vaccine certificate."
Covishield, the Oxford-AstraZenenca vaccine, is manufactured by The Serum Institute of India.
As per the new advisory by Qatar Authorities, with effect from April 25, passengers travelling to Qatar are required to carry a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test certificate from an accredited lab done within 72 hours of time of arrival.
Local expatriate sources in Qatar have also cautioned passengers getting Covishield jab in India that they should have their passport no: mentioned in the vaccination certificate as their identity document they carry while arriving in Qatar, and certificates mentioning other ID documents like Aadhaar will not be accepted by Qatar immigration officials. Passengers should also make sure that their name in the certificate exactly tally with the one in the passport.
