Qatar stands firm in solidarity with Palestine amidst the Israel-Palestine conflict escalating since Monday, which has resulted in around 140 Palestinians getting killed, including 39 children.

During an emergency meeting for Arab Parliaments' Speakers organised by the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union, Qatari Shura Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud said the state of Qatar extends their support for the Palestinian people and called on for the return of Al Quds and Al Aqsa to the Arab people and the Islamic world.

While condemning the Israeli atrocities on the Palestinians, Al-Mahmoud urged the international community to intervene effectively to end the conflict and stated that the country believes that restoring an independent sovereign Palestinian state based on East Jerusalem borders of 1967 be prioritized. The Arab community faces great challenges, which depends upon the protection of Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa mosque and the Palestinians from the atrocities and violations of human rights carried out by the military and police, he added.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the main square of the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque in Doha witnessed hundreds gather up to denounce Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip and ousting of Palestinian families from East Jerusalem. The decades-long Israel-Palestine conflict got worse when an Israeli court approved to evict several Palestinian families from the area.

The Shura Council Speaker lauded the Palestinian people as a mark of respect to their heroic efforts of protecting Gaza, the Sheikh Jarrah locality, the Damascus Gate, and Al Aqsa mosque while in the face of bullets.
