Palestine will forget none who took part in genocide: Hamas
text_fieldsGaza: The militant group in Gaza fighting for the cause of the Palestinian state, Hamas, said on Wednesday that their people will not forget anyone who took part in the war of genocide, Anadolu Agency reported.
Hamas political bureau member Khalil al-Hayya said that the brutal “Nazi-like” crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and its supporters would remain etched in the memory of our people and the world as the most heinous genocide of the modern era.
On the occasion of the brokered ceasefire attained after a 15-month-long war, he said that Hamas extended words of pride and honour to the Gaza people. He recalled the stances all the countries took in supporting the Palestinian cause. He mentioned Türkiye, South Africa, Algeria, Russia, China, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Al-Hayya continued that Israel’s criminal occupation was met with the resilience of the Palestinian people and their steadfast attachment to their land. They stood firm on their land, neither fleeing nor migrating and served as the protective shield for their resistance. Israel has failed to achieve any of its secret or declared objectives,l he added.
Al-Hayya later said that with Allah’s help and the support of Palestine’s “brothers, allies and all those who stand in solidarity”, they will rebuild Gaza afresh. He added that Israel achieved nothing but destruction, devastation and massacre against Gazans. Israel only secured its captives through an agreement with the resistance to halt the war and aggression and through an honourable prisoner exchange deal.
In a landmark development over a year after the Gaza war erupted, Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement to end hostilities and exchange hostages for prisoners. The war, marked by widespread devastation and instability across the Middle East, now sees a pivotal turning point with this peace deal.
US President Joe Biden confirmed the agreement during a briefing on Wednesday, describing it as "a very good afternoon." He remarked, "Soon, the hostages will return home to their families," highlighting the profound impact of the breakthrough.
