Manama: Oman recorded a major result at the 42nd FIAP International Photography Biennial in Bahrain, taking the Photography World Cup for Digital Images in two youth divisions and securing several individual honours.

The national team topped the youth under-16 category with 402 points and led the youth under-25 category with 348 points. Officials described the outcome as a continuation of Omani youth progress in international cultural events and an indication of the technical strength shown by emerging photographers.

In the under-16 group, Amir bin Mohsin Al Hajri received the FIAP Silver Medal, while Layan bint Sultan Al Batashi and Yaseen bin Mohsin Al Hajri earned Bronze Medals. In the under-25 category, Wahab bin Ibrahim Al Kindi took the FIAP Silver Medal.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth said the result reflects its aim to support young photographers and expand their access to international competitions that help raise Oman's profile in global creative fields.
