Oman and Saudi Arabia have formally adopted a shared Certificate of Origin to make trade between the two countries faster and simpler. The agreement was announced after a meeting between officials from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.

This step is part of the second phase of their industrial integration program. It introduces several practical measures: equal treatment for Omani and Saudi companies in government contracts, easier registration of industrial products and incentives for joint industrial projects. Officials said the new system will create a more predictable environment for businesses operating across both countries.

During the meeting, private-sector companies from Oman and Saudi Arabia signed a series of memoranda of understanding to begin new joint projects.

Trade between the two countries has been expanding steadily. By the end of July 2025, total trade had increased by 20 percent compared with the same period the previous year.
