Night curfew in Iraq to limit Covid spread; Violators to be imposed 5 million as fine
text_fieldsIraq imposed night curfew as part of government measures to curb the outbreak of theCovid19. Iraq's High Committee for Health and National Safety has announced that the curfew from 8 PM to 5 AM with effect from 18th of this month.
The Committee has exempted the Ministry of Health, security forces, service departments and vegetable shops from the curfew. It decided to ban wedding banquets or social gatherings and closure of halls from February 15thuntil further notice.
The committee noted that mosques and beauty centers will be closed for two weeks. Violators will be imposed a fine of five million.
Students from schools, institutes and public and private colleges will be shifted to remote learning from February 18th, except for the final year medical students, the committee said.
