Kuwait has welcomed an invitation from US President Donald Trump for His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to join the Board of Peace for Gaza, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed that Kuwait will join the Board of Peace, with accession documents to be completed in line with the country’s constitutional and legal procedures.

Kuwait expressed appreciation for the peace initiative led by President Trump and said it supports the mandate of the Board of Peace, which will function as a transitional body under a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. The plan was adopted by the United Nations Security Council through Resolution 2803.

According to the ministry, the framework seeks to secure a permanent ceasefire, support reconstruction efforts in Gaza and advance steps toward a just and lasting peace. It also aims to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state in accordance with international law.

The statement added that the initiative is intended to contribute to regional security and stability, benefiting the people of the region as a whole.
