The Kuwait National Robotics Championship for the 2025–2026 season began on Wednesday, organized by Kuwait University’s Computer Science Department and the Public Authority for Youth, in coordination with the Ministry of Education. The event is the country’s largest platform for encouraging youth participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Acting Dean of the College of Science, Dr Haidar Behbehani, said the initiative aims to develop students’ skills in robotics, artificial intelligence and technological applications, helping prepare them for future labor market needs.

Acting Director General of Youth, Nasser Al-Sheikh, said the championship supports national efforts to identify and nurture young Kuwaiti talent in science and technology. He noted that it plays a key role in fostering creativity and innovation, contributing to sustainable development.

The championship includes specialized competitions such as the VEX Robotics, Drone and Seaperch Marine Robotics contests, along with workshops and training camps to prepare students for international events. Since its launch in 2023, Kuwaiti teams have gained recognition and won awards at global competitions in the United States.
