Kuwait Amir receives UAE President for talks on Gulf unity, regional stability
text_fieldsKuwait’s Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his accompanying delegation on Thursday during an official visit to Kuwait.
Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah also attended the meeting.
The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen relations between Kuwait and the UAE across different fields and expand cooperation in areas serving mutual interests.
They also reviewed regional and international developments, with a focus on the situation in the Middle East.
Both sides expressed support for initiatives and diplomatic efforts seeking to promote peace, security and stability in the region.
The meeting also covered key Gulf issues, with both leaders stressing the importance of unity among GCC countries and advancing joint work to support development and prosperity for their peoples.
Senior Kuwaiti officials attending the meeting included First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and Head of the Crown Prince’s Diwan Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Also present were Minister of Defence Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of the Amir’s Office retired Lieutenant General Jamal Al-Theyab, Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Sheikh Abdulaziz Mishal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Amiri Diwan Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Mazen Al-Issa.
The UAE delegation included Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and other senior officials.
