Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that the crescent Moon, marking the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, was spotted in the kingdom. Consequently, Saudi Arabia will celebrate the first day of Eid Al Adha on June 16, which corresponds to Dhul Hijjah 10.
In contrast, countries that did not sight the Moon on Thursday will observe the holiday on different days. In Saudi Arabia, June 7, is the first day of Dhul Hijjah, Arafah Day will be on June 15.
In Oman, the crescent Moon was not sighted on Thursday. Therefore, the first day of Dhul Hijjah will be on Saturday, June 8, and the first day of Eid Al Adha will be observed on Monday, June 17.
