Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced the administration of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as part of its plans to diversify choices of different vaccines to the public. The first shipment of the vaccine arrived from India at Dubai Airport on Tuesday, making it the third COVID-19 vaccine approved in the country.

Through its official Instagram account, the authority informed that the first category obtaining the vaccine would be nationals and chronically ill residents. They can get appointments by calling the toll number 800 342.

The second category of the inoculation campaign includes frontline workers and vital professionals. Appointments for the 2nd category will be scheduled with joint coordination between DHA and their institutions.

Vaccines of Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sputnik V and Oxford-AstraZeneca are the four approved vaccines in the UAE against the COVID-19 infection. The UAE is inoculating citizens and residents, excluding nursing mothers, pregnant women and children, free of charge.
